Yes, I was best friends for many years with Evelyn from the time we started work in Perks supermarket in Rochford Square back in the 60's after we left school. I spent many a happy hour at her home with her and her mum plus their little pet sparrow named ding dong, and used to go to her dad's work shop behind the old garage at the bottom of the High street opposite the Malborough watching her dad working making metal gates etc.
Also stayed at her bungalow in Benfleet, Badgers Road after her first marriage and mine with my then husband and my 1st born baby Karen who sadly died 3 years ago.
I then moved to Shropshire where I still live where we resumed contact many years later when you was a young lad. I was heart broken to hear of her passing. She was the best friend I'd ever had. xx
